Hello Nickelback fans! Welcome to the new Nickelback Website. we're going to try our best to keep you up to date, and entertained! We'll be keeping a tour diary along with pictures and video clips of all the going-ons. We're happy to announce also that the Nickelback-Forum has been made our official Bulletin Board. Thank you so much to the moderators over there for taking on this task! I'm happy to say that we've already met a few of you and I look forward to seeing you in the futureWe're in London at the moment on our European promotion tour. I guess this is where we actually have to work! It's a pretty crazy schedule with all of the press and the travel. The shows in Germany were a blast, great crowds and it was nice to

play in the smaller clubs again, we can get really loud in there and it sounds great. On a personal note I was a little nervous going up against the Germans in the beer chugging competition but alas, I still remain the champion! That is a good thing....right? :) Some exciting stuff coming up, and we'll post all the upcoming events on the site so you don't miss a thing. If anybody has feedback on how we might make this site better, or other things that you would like to see, please go to the bulletin board and let us know. See you soon!

It's funny, we're on the road without being on the road. Promo tours are strange because of the total lack of schedule. Everyday it's different times and different time zones! The UK was a lot of fun, we had the chance to work with some of our favorite radio stations over there again and finish the whole trip off with performing at Top of the Pops. We flew straight to NYC to play the grand opening of the Nokia theater in Times Square with Mary J Blidge and Sean Paul. We got some new phones from them, man are they sweet! 3 Days at home and off again to LA for the week of the launch. Got to see our friends Jay Leno and Jimmy Kimmel again. I'd like to take this chance to thank all

of our fans and supporters. The reviews of the album have been amazing, along with the number of people buying them! Photograph is the #1 Downloaded song on iTunes, and I believe it made a historical impact with the amount of times it was downloaded! Now we're off to play Music Plus in Montreal, and start our 24 hour Westjet fiasco! We'll be shooting a vid for the next 2 songs pretty soon, I'm sure you'll get to see lots of pictures. Thanks again, see you soon!

that! We have a show with Audioslave next week in Houston and then we have a little time off. We'll rest up, and then get our show ready to rock your socks off next year!! ....Daniel

What a test of endurance! The Westjet promo was a blast! By the middle of the day delirium started to kick in and reflecting on the thought that we woke up in Halifax seemed like a dream. We got to meet a bunch of great people and do some amazing things. On the way from Muchmusic to the airport in toronto, we had a police escort. It was like we were in the game 'Vice City'! What a rush. I have to give a HUGE thanks to our fans for waiting for us. Some folks waited for a long time in the cold in Calgary, and some waited 14 hours in line at the HMV in Vancouver. I wish we had the time to give them more than a picture and a handshake. I was really moved at the response, thank you everybody! Ryan and I also had the awesome opportunity to catch a taping of the trailer park boys in Halifax, thanks to Terry at Sabian cymbals for

Well, here we are back on the road again! I forgot that this is actually like work, well, sort of! Prince George was a great start to the tour, what a great crowd. The fans on every stop of this tour have blown me away, what a joy it is to perform for all of you, you're out of control! Some of those first nights were as new to us as to the fans, we're really starting to get in the groove and everybody seems to be enjoying the new show. Vancouver in particular was a special show for me, it was a dream come true to come to my home town and play a sold out GM Place. Edmonton and Calgary a blast also. Lots of family backstage, I can't even remember all the relatives I met! I have to say that I was nervous for the first time at the beer chugging competition last night, Peake's brother Jason is fast, and Red Dawg from CJ 92 has a huge rep for beer consumption, but alas, I won again, wow would Mom be proud! Our crew is doing a great job out here, it's amazing how they set up and tear down six trailers worth of gear everyday. Although the flu is hanging around all of us, I think I haven't got it because of the beer consumption,

There is something to be said for the Mid West, you guys know how to party!  Things changed a bit when we crossed the border, we joined up with our friends Trapt and Default.  The boys in Default have a tattoo artist traveling with them and they're getting inked up.  Hmm, I think I need some more work, why not?  I can't see myself wearing a tie to work at this point of the game!  It was great to see Aaron again from Trapt, the first thing we did is talk shop, we're both drumming enthusiasts.  It's funny how all the towns start to run together.  This tour was my first time in Winnipeg and I didn't even see it.  I woke up inside the venue, played the show, and left!  I can say I've been there though.  The Fargo dome is easy to remember, that place was massive, we cut the place in half and parked all of our buses in the same venue! We had a change of schedule when we drove to Detroit, not much of a day off sitting on a bus until 9 at night, but the show was worth it.  I can't believe how busy that city was, even four days before the Superbowl.  We played the kick off party for VH1 and we had a blast.  I think everybody was surprised that we brought pyro.  It was a lot closer to us on that stage, yikes!  Everybody thinks I'm crazy but I gave my ticket to

the Surperbowl to my drum tech Morgan.  He enjoyed it way more than I would of and I had a great day off.  I went to the mall, that's right, I did normal people stuff and I loved it! Wichita was off the hook, I'm talking mayhem, people were crowd surfing out of the beer gardens into the mosh pit with a full beer!  Omaha last night was our biggest US show thus far, the place was packed at 14,500 people.  We love all of you guys, thanks for coming!  Looks like I'm going to have to learn how to play poker, everyday off is a tournament and we play it on our sweet Nickelback poker tables.  Even the chips have all the album covers on them!  With winners taking home $2,000, I have to try and get in on some of the action.  Default is taking all of our money!...Daniel

Monday 8 March

We have now begun our second leg of the tour after a very short break and are happy to have started in some warm sunny weather.  We got an opportunity the other day in Phoenix to skate with the Great One, Wayne Gretzky.  It was an absolutely amazing experience for all of us and we cannot thank Wayne and the entire Phoenix Coyotes organization enough for the way they treated us. We all had such a great time and the hospitality was amazing Also a special thanks to Mark Abramson at Roadrunner

for setting this whole thing up, you rule buddy! We then played to a rockin' sold out crowd in Phoenix and now have made our way through El Paso and into Texas. The tour has been going amazing so far and the fans have been unreal.  So thanks to everyone for coming out, we plan on being out for a long time and as long as everyone keeps coming, we will keep playing. ...See you all soon!

Sunday 12 March

Well, here we are today in Oklahoma City, the warm weather is refreshing after touring Canada and  the Mid West in the dead of winter.  After being off the road for a year, it took a bit of adapting to get back into the swing of things, but just as we were getting over missing home and sliding into the zone, we went home for a week!  It's a strange thing, living on the road.  When you get back home, it's so exciting, even the simple things like driving your car is a thrill!  And of course, as we got used to being home for 10 days, we go back on the road!  And so it continues, this crazy life of ours.It was great to hit Eastern Canada (well, Ontario is eastern to a Vancouverite!) and play the big rooms in Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa.  The corned beef in Montreal, good God!  We also had a fantastic steak dinner at Barbarian's steak house in Toronto, we felt compelled to order several bottles of wine from 1982, man, our bill was more than my annual income when I was 20!!  I ended up

having my birthday in Green Bay, but we drove 16 hours from Ottawa so the party consisted of a beer or two and then 12 hours of sleep.  I made up for it on the break home.Phoenix was such a great start to this leg, first of all, flying from a city that recently had 30 days of consecutive rain to a city that has had 137 days without rain.  The Coyotes gave us a very warm welcome and Dave Skatchard and his lovely wife cooked a great BBQ dinner for us.  Of course, the next day we got to skate with the Great One himself, Wayne Gretzky.  Pretty surreal stuff, amazing to think that playing rock caused all this!  Even the recent invite to open for the Rolling Stones in New Zealand is an honor, somebody pinch me!  Of course the Texas shows are always crazy, great crowds, you gotta love that Texas attitude!  Although, at the Lubbock show the roof was pretty low and I took a couple of direct hits from pyro, wicked!Lots of exciting things on the horizon for this year, I'm trying to get back in the  habit of taking more pictures, I'm sure you'd all like to see the hilarious stuff  going on!  Thanks again to all you great fans for coming to the shows and screaming your asses off for us.  I went to a concert recently as a normal concert goer, no  backstage or anything, and I'll tell you, it's a lot of work!  Pay for parking, walk  a mile, wait in lines, $10 beers, wait in that line, go to the bathroom, wait in  line, walk to the car, wait in traffic!  I understand, and I love you guys for going through all that!

Monday, 22 May 2006

Well, here we are in Dublin, Ireland. What a great place, the amount of history is stunning. It's nice to have a little time to actually see the cities that we're in. It's been a fantastic experience supporting Bon Jovi. All I can say is that they and their crew are the most accommodating people. Germany and Austria were great, although it's a strange switch to be an opening act, makes us work a little harder! Looking forward to all of these shows that we play together.Australia....wow!! This was my first time to that part of the world. The whole trip was fantastic, actually starting in New Zealand opening up for the Rolling Stones.  That in itself was an honor and a great experience. Super nice guys and it was surreal to meet them in person, I mean, it's the Stones! Beautiful country, a very well kept secret. Perth was a blast, basically a different country - it's so far away from everything else. I was pleasantly surprised on how AWESOME the crowd was in Perth, I wanted to play all night!
Adelaide was a nice place and we had a chance to have a VIP tour of the Penfold's winery. Drinking $500 wine at 11am day of the show is such a rock star thing to do!  We bought some wine to take home...about a boat load! Againthe crowd brought a smile to my face, we were actually grinning ear to ear! Brisbane was a beautiful city,

possibly one of my favorites, the architecture and the culture, set among palm trees was a unique mix. I think the Aussie's are among the top when it comes to rocking out at a show! Sydney of course was Sydney: beautiful. We played the Superdome sold out and those people almost took the roof off! It was nice to have a few days off there. We received our triple platinum plaques there, thanks to all our great fans! Newcastle was next, and the building there sounded great, a little smaller and not boomy at all, wish they all sounded that good. We finished off in Brisbane, a little more tropical up there. Found a great Belgian Bar, I'm turning into a beer snob! Hung out with kangaroos and predatory birds.I'd like to give a great big thanks to all the folks in Aus, you were great and Ican't wait to come back, hell, I'd move there! Daniel

TOUR DIARY ENTRY - JULY 27

Wow months can pass quick out here on the road! I thought I did an update a couple of weeks ago..right! We're at the end of the July run, two more shows with Bon Jovi. We're in Boston today at Gillette Stadium, it's going to be a hot one! The shows have been great, it keeps us on our toes to go from our own shows to the BJ shows, changes things up nicely. This run has been good, the crowds as usual have been killer, thanks to everybody for coming out and having a rockin' time with us!

Summerfest in Milwaukee was a blast, hung out the night before and watched Kenny Chesney, and drank a lot of his beer, shhhh! New England is always off the hook, and the seafood rocks of course. Toronto was a highlight for me, seeing I was born there, what a crowd! The Road Hammers played with us, great guys and killer musicians. I was standing outside their room listening to the guitarist fiddle around, awesome! Giants Stadium, Soldier Field, Joe Louis Arena, Heinz Field, what can I say? How cool is that? Got to hang with the Steelers after their presentation, nice guys. We also were presented with our triple platinum plaques for All the Right Reasons. The hardest part of all this is the weather, I'm basically doing aerobics on stage in 90% humidity. It was so hot last night in Columbia that after the show I didn't even want a beer, wow, that's gotta be bad!! We finally have a break coming up, well, six days, but it's better than nothing, and then we'll be out until the middle of September. See you guys out there!...Daniel

AUGUST 23 TOUR DIARY UPDATE

Wow, 6 days off, Funny, you sit at home and want to tour, and you are on the road and want to go home. WTF?! Whatever the logic, how can you beat playing to sold out arenas? Coming back from a serene time at home to the circus of Sturgis was quite the shock! Great time, the

Black Crows rock and it was great to see our friends LIVE again. It's a rare thing to tour in the west for some reason, and I love it! Being an outdoors guy this is the place for me. The crowds? Wicked. Boise, Reno, Salt Lake City, Denver, Sacramento, it's unbelievable that we have such loyal fans everywhere! LA is a blast, I had breakfast with Jerry Cantrell from Alice in Chains, had a drum lesson with the great Virgil Donati, and then Michael Anthony from Van Halen came to our gig, how cool is that? Fresno was a blast, went to a classic YMCA during the day where he weights were rusty and there was a cockroach squashed on the floor! Arnie would be proud! Vegas? Man, what a ClusterF! We had so many friends down to visit, and the next day we got to see the show Le Reve...wow. Unbelievable. if you're in Vegas, see it! The Texas shows are soon! That's when the super craziness starts!
